续慧命传佛戒

辛亥七十二岁。公以培植法器。造就青年僧材。春期传授千佛大戒。于祝圣寺。四方求戒者。恰满千人。于五十三天内。如法次第僧事。沙弥。比丘。菩萨。三坛大戒。圆满成就。新戒信受奉行。

宣化偈曰：

正法住世佛为师。像末当依木乂尸。
公续慧命传宝戒。吾侪法身灌溉时。　

Furthering the life of wisdom and transmitting the precepts

By the year 1911, at seventy-two, the Master, wishing to mould Dharma vessels by educating young Sanghans, transmitted the Great Precepts of the Thousand Buddhas in the spring, at Chu Sheng Monastery. There were exactly one thousand people in attendance who came from all over, filling the monastery to capacity. In accordance with the proper sequence and method of this ceremony, the three great Platforms of Shramanera, Bhikshu, and Bodhisattva Precepts were completed in fifty-three days. The newly-precepted faithfully received them and vowed to offer up their conduct.

The gatha says:
When the Proper Dharma is in the world, the Buddha is the Master.
In Dharma Image and Ending Ages, rely on the Pratimoksha.
The Master extended the Life of Wisdom and transmitted the precious Precepts,
For this is when our Dharma bodies are actually anointed.
